Mick Besse is the President of Besse Medical, an AmerisourceBergen company. Besse Medical is a specialty supplier and solutions partner focused on the distribution of pharmaceutical, biotechnology and  medical products to community physician practices, clinics and surgery centers throughout the United States. 

Mick’s leadership ensures that Besse Medical maintains strong partnerships with more than 1,500 manufacturers, develops industry-leading distribution solutions, and accelerates access to the products, insights, technology and guidance that community physicians need to elevate practice performance.

Mick started his career in the pharmaceutical distribution industry in 1988. He served as Vice President of Business Development at Besse Medical when it was acquired by Bergen Brunswig in 1998, and was named Vice President and General Manager after the acquisition. Upon the merger of Amerisource and Bergen Brunswig, Mick led the integration of the Health Services Plus division of Amerisource into Besse Medical in 2002, and was appointed Executive Vice President and General Manager. Mick was named President in 2006. He also served concurrently as President of Oncology Supply, another AmerisourceBergen company, from 2013-2016.

He is a member of the extended lead team at AmerisourceBergen where he helps drive innovative partnerships with manufacturers and providers to improve product access and efficiency throughout the healthcare supply chain.

Before joining AmerisourceBergen, Mick’s background also included start-up and operations experience in infusion therapy, retail pharmacy and the durable medical equipment markets.

Mick has a BS in Pharmacy from the University of Cincinnati and an MBA with Concentrations in Marketing and Management of Advanced Technology and Innovation from the University of Cincinnati.
